2012 PLANNING FOR OUR FUTURE

Positive Mental Health Awareness Week

There is no single intervention or approach that will, in itself, adequately challenge the problem of suicide in Ireland. Everyone has a role to play in suicide prevention—from the health sector to our schools, community & church groups and those in private enterprise. A co-ordinated response working in partnership between the statutory, voluntary, community sectors and individuals is essential.

The Positive Mental Health Awareness Week has it roots in an initiative instigated by the Pastoral Council in 2005. The Pastoral Council believes that if we are to address the issue of suicide that we must break the silence and explore the issues as a community. The Pastoral Council would like to encourage you to consider attending the Conference or Workshops scheduled for the week of 24th of April.

To book you place at any of the events please ring 01 4632804 or email: positive.health@mailm.hse.ie or completed the coupon in this weeks Wicklow People.

A Prayer that the Spirit will guide our Parish Planning Process

Lord,

As we work together planning for the future well-being of our parish, we pray that all our of what work may be focused on you.

At the heart of what we do, may there be listening, listening to what to  what your Spirit is saying to us, through our people and through the world around us.

At the heart of what we are doing, may there be wisdom, wisdom that does everything with care and forethought, wisdom that is shrewd and astute.

At the heart of what we are doing, may there be courage, courage to explore and to experiment, courage to let go and courage to begin again.

Lord, lead us along your path. May we work as if everything depended on us and await the outcome knowing that everything depends on you.
